If he had known... Napoleon would never have left the island
A little history: Located at the end of the bay of Marina di Campo in a pine forest bordered by a beautiful sandy beach, the village opened on May 24, 1953. The place is not unknown to Club Méditerranée since excursions-bivouacs from Golfo di Baratti have been going there since 1951.
In 1953, the village simply welcomed GMs for periods of one week mainly including an excursion program. The following year, Elba developed and became a "real" village where GMs could spend more time (2 weeks). Water skiing, spearfishing, volleyball, pétanque, bivouacs to the Tuscan islands of Monte Cristo and Capraia are part of the distractions.
Elba is the so-called "farniente" village, as presented in each issue of Trident. From 1955, Club Méditerranée combined Elba with Capri, offering GMs the chance to start their stays at Marina di Campo and end their stays at Villa Pena in Capri.

My very first village as a little (7 year old) GM. I think in 58. On the other hand, I'm sure that the Naudins were involved in animation.
He was a film sound engineer, she worked at the club's office in Paris.
